DIY: Melted Crayon Pumpkin

Even though it’s only a few days into October, it’s never too early to start decorating! I’m a decor-aholic, just ask my friends. I’ve never been into carving pumpkins. It takes a lot of time and the smell is not great. I looked for an alternative and stumbled upon a Pinterest idea so I rolled with it.

What you’ll need:

  • 3-5 packs of crayons (depending on how you want it to look)
  • White paint
  • Glow in the dark spray
  • Hot glue gun
  • Hair Dryer

First, you’ll need to buy your pumpkin! Pick one with a smooth surface so it’s easy to paint.

Step Two: Wet a paper towel and clean off your pumpkin.

Step Three: Start to paint your pumpkin. I chose the color white so that the melted crayons could really pop! Feel free to choose whatever color you’d like. Paint at least 2 layers. Let it dry.

Step Four: Peel off the wrappers on the crayons. Break the crayons in half. Start to place your crayons on the pumpkin. You can either do this on the top of the pumpkin or on the bottom.

Step Five: Hot glue the crayons onto the pumpkin.

Step Six: Patiently hair dry the crayons until they melt. Try to do this from an angle so the melted crayon doesn’t go all over the place.

Step Seven: Once all our crayons are melted and dried, spray on glow in the dark spray paint! This looks AMAZING at night! Your pumpkin will glow and look ultra spooky.

Step Eight: Add whatever else you want! Draw a face, write a quote, get creative!Β IMG_5679.JPG

I hope your Halloween is filled with candy
